Goal:
The goal of this project was to create a fun, standard movie-size poster featuring everything that would be in the subject's movie, based on the incredibly stunning original Baby Driver posters by Rory Kurtz. Individual illustrations were hand-drawn with graphite in a sketchbook, scanned, and colorized in photoshop.
Process:
HAND-DRAWINGS
Each illustration was first sketched several times in a sketchbook with graphite using several reference photos and/or a live model when applicable.
PHOTOSHOP COLORIZING
Post-scanning, the illustrations were cleaned up, the lines were darkened, and the white were whitened. Each illustration was colorized using several layers of the brush tool, each one with the blending mode: multiply. They were then exported as PNGs and placed into the InDesign file.
